The Farm (Fattoria)

The “Fattoria di Loro” is an historical farm reality in the district of Empoli. The Farm is 150 hectares wide with 30 hectares of vineyards and 17 of olive groves.

The Winery

We have been producing top-quality wines for a very long time.

In 1685 Francesco Redi, physician and naturalist from Arezzo, and also author of “Bacco in Toscana” (Bacchus in Tuscany), praises the wines produced on our hills, which were very popular among the Florentine aristocrats in those days.

The winery where we vintage Chianti and Vermentino wines, and also Chianti Vin Santo (sweet white Italian wine) is attached and connected to the Villa.

Every year, by choosing the best grapes, we home-produce 10,000 bottles of Chianti, IGT Supertuscany and Vermentino wines and Chianti Vin Santo.

The Vin Santo is made by natural withering of our grapes. It is aged for at least 3 years in the Vin Santo room above the “Scuderie”, which have now become an area used by our guests for events and wedding parties.

“Fattoria di Loro” Products

Chianti di Loro Wine

Obtained from Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Merlot vines from the vineyards situated on the sunniest hills of our lands, it stands out for its bright ruby-red colour, verging to garnet red, and for its deeply vinous scent. The flavour is dry, full-bodied, verging to smooth in the course of time.

Vermentino Wine – Vigna (Vineyard) of the Column

Obtained from the thorough wine-making of Vermentino grapes in well-controlled temperature. It has a straw yellow colour, soft and vivid, a delicate sweet-smelling scent and a dry and fruity flavour.

Chianti Vin Santo

Obtained from the natural withering of Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes in proper withering rooms.

The wort is then put into durmast oak kegs where it ferments and matures for at least 3 years. Golden colour with strong amber glint, ethereal flavour of dried fruit with smell of honey, jam and biscuit and a smooth and sweet taste.

Extra-virgin Olive Oil
The olive groves of “Fattoria di Loro” are on the hills of Montaioncino and Martignana which are particularly fit for the cultivation of olive trees. The production techniques, the hand-picking and the olive crushing without heating within 24 hours from the picking allow to obtain oil with extraordinay organoleptic quality.

The single-variety oil of Leccino, Mignola, Frantoio and Moraiolo, and of Blend Oil will satisfy the finest palates by offering a wide possibility of choice.

All the products from the Farm may be used for the wedding banquet and the events, and also for the packing of elegant and original bonbonniéres.
